![]() Jonathan Frakes reprises his role as Will Riker. Resolute, a science vessel embroiled in a mystery involving two alien species on the brink of war. The story is set in 2380 (roughly a year after Star Trek: Nemesis and during the events of Star Trek: Lower Decks) note The beginning of the game lists the stardate as 57931,4, which places it no later than the episode " Kayshon, His Eyes Open" and follows the crew of the U.S.S. It was released on May 23rd, 2023 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Windows. I'll buy it on ps5 just because I want to do my part to convince the publisher to make more story-based Star Trek games faithful to the universe rather than sci fi shooters in a star trek setting.Star Trek: Resurgence is a third-person narrative video game set in the Star Trek Expanded Universe, developed by Dramatic Labs note former members of Telltale Games. I know I'm defending a game that isn't even out, and may be absolute shit (though I think the absolute worst it'll be is "mediocre", which I can handle as long as it's kinda fun), but I'm just saying that the lack of marketing may be due more to the publisher just being a piece of shit that doesn't know how to properly market one of its biggest franchises than a lack of confidence in the game itself. It feels like most Trek stuff kinda gets the "only fans will like it, and fans will look for it," treatment, while Star Wars is getting the "it can be for everyone, let's let everyone know about it," treatment. Hell, I didn't even know about Star Trek Online until like. The only reason I know about Resurgence is, like other trek shows, I was wondering if there was anything new in trek gaming and looked it up about a month ago. If it weren't for reddit and me having a Paramount + subscription, I wouldn't even know about Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, Prodigy, or any other newer trek stuff. In defense of the game, this is a Star Trek game, meaning Paramount is at least somewhat behind it. Think for yourself: Topics that boil down to "Should I watch.", "Will I like.", "Change my view on.", "Does anyone else.", or "Tell me what to think" are not contributing anything to the community.Ĭlick here for the full & detailed guidelines Upcoming Episodes: Date Meta: Send a modmail instead of making public posts or comments about: other users of this subreddit, the rules or moderators, the community at large or other subreddits, downvotes/upvotes.Ĩ.
